About #3 Engine Room

#3 Engine Room is both a digital and an analog site for dialogue about artists’ books, material culture, physical objects in space, language and art. The real world site is a small addition on an old house built in the Territorial neighborhood called Uppertown, on the bluffs of the Mississippi River in St. Paul, Minnesota. It was built by hand with scavenged materials and has housed many people over its 140 years. When the most recent owner walked away in 2009, we undertook the reclamation of this abandoned site. It now houses the artist book archive of Traffic Street Press and Paulette Myers-Rich.
